What to Expect

Aggravating factors are discussed, such as posture habits at work and during sleep, ergonomics, nutrition, hormones, and allergies. Appropriate treatment methods are discussed and agreed upon.Therapy on table on back of the head

Depending on your needs, work may begin on a massage chair to facilitate head, neck, shoulder and upper back work, then proceed on the heated table in the treatment room.

After treatment, you will receive a program of passive stretch and exercise to retrain and recondition muscles to maintain pain relief. This makes for a longer lasting effect. This may include take-home exercises with instructions and recommended reading, as well as information on self-treatment with the Backnobber.

Follow Up

With permission, you will be called the next day for a report on how you have responded to treatment. You may call with questions or concerns before or after that call.

Special Medical Conditions

Persons with a complex medical history may require a physician's signature stating that trigger point therapy is an acceptable and appropriate treatment for you. This would eliminate further damage if you have any condition which pressure would exacerbate, such as a fracture, aneurism, or clot.

Facility

The treatment facility is located in a private residence, upper floor office. There is a cat on the premises.
