Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the treatment like?

A. The work loosens the muscle fibers and gives them new
"memory." If you held your hand in a tight ball all day long,
opening that hand at the end of the day would be painful.
The muscles would rather be in a relaxed state. Retraining
them or giving them new memory is what we're after.

Your therapy will begin on the massage chair, which will allows
better access the head, neck, shoulder, and back muscles.
Muscles are pressed with a knuckle or elbow, followed by massage
of the area, and stretching. You will then move to the heated massage table for work on your lower body. The session ends with practicing your take-home exercises.

Q. How long are the sessions and how many will I need?

A. The first session will be two hours. A history will be taken and you will receive an explanation of the treatment components. Following sessions will be 1 1/2 hrs. You'll be asked to commit to three sessions, to give the treatment a fair trial. Most clients respond immediately. Your need will depend upon your history and muscular response.

Q. Can I be taught to work on myself?

A. Yes. Trigger point therapy was developed by Bonnie Prudden so that clients would be capable of working on themselves or others. You can use the Backnobber to reach your backside and administer trigger pointing. This instrument was developed by Bernard Gladieux, Jr., founder of the Pressure Positive Co.

Q. What do I wear to the session?

A. Loose and comfortable clothing. Sports bras, T-shirts, sweats, in layers works well. No denim please. You will remove watch, jewelry and eyeglasses before the session begins.

Q. Where is your office?

A. The office is a home-based business, on the banks of 9-Mile creek in Bloomington, Minnesota, three miles from the intersection of 35W and I-494.
